David Sgarbossa leads our Care Coordination, Contact Tracing, and Programming teams at Esperanza Health Centers as Director of Population Health. Before earning his master’s in social work at University of Chicago, David completed his undergraduate education at DePaul University as a Women and Gender Studies/Sociology major (and minor in LGBT Studies). Prior to joining Esperanza, David was Associate Director of Social Services at Howard Brown Health, in which he oversaw all HIV Case Management programs and Hep C Linkage to Care and Care Management program, as well as their patient financial assistance program. As someone that believes healthcare to be a human right, David was drawn to Esperanza’s delivery of care in allowing patients to access care regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. David loves TV, movies, and all things pop culture! He enjoys spending time with his husband and two pups, exploring new cities, and reading.
