What to Expect:

 Casa Huitzil Kitchen

Chef LupitaAt the center of this year’s gala is Chef Lupita Romero, a MasterChef Latino finalist and visionary behind Casa Huitzil Kitchen. Known for her deep respect for regional Mexican traditions and her ability to bring them to life in fresh, thoughtful ways, Chef Romero has designed a menu that goes far beyond a typical gala dinner.

This curated experience is built around storytelling through food, featuring four gourmet cultural stations, each inspired by a different region of Mexico. Guests can move freely, explore, and taste dishes that carry history, memory, and creativity in every bite. Chef Romero offers an elevated take on Mexican classics like ceviche, mole meatballs, and mini tortas. She also adds some Chicago influences, such as Italian beef taquitos with giardiniera, and other inventive dishes that nod to both heritage and home.

Art comes to life with artist Micaela Anaya

Experience the creative process firsthand! We are thrilled to host local artist Micaela Anaya for a live painting session at this year’s Gala. Rooted in the rich social realist traditions of Mexico, Micaela’s work explores how art can drive meaningful social impact.

Don’t miss your chance to watch a masterpiece come to life—and then make it yours by bidding on the completed work in our silent auction!

Mexican Folkloric Dance by the Frida Organization

Directly from the heart of Pilsen, we are delighted to welcome the students of Frida’s Folklore Program to our stage. Born from a collaboration between the Frida Community Organization and Cooper Dual Language Academy, the ensemble will perform the vibrant "El Baile de Las Chilenas."

Through intricate footwork and colorful attire, these young dancers bring Mexican history to life, weaving together the myths and traditions that unify a culture. It’s a joyful, high-energy spectacle you won’t want to miss!

Live Music

During the first half of the event, enjoy live music from the talented trio, A Flor de Piel. This multigenerational group was founded by Grammy® and Latin Grammy® nominee Renato Ceron.

Later in the evening get ready to dance to the rhythms of DJ LALA.
