Dr. Thomas Kim is a family medicine provider at our Brighton Park clinic. Prior to Esperanza, Dr. Kim was a medical director at another FQHC in Chicago, teaching students and residents, and practicing family medicine obstetrics at a community hospital on the west side of Chicago. He completed his medical education at Northwestern before doing his residency in family medicine and obstetrics at an FQHC in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He also earned his master’s degree in public health at Harvard, concentrating in health policy and management. Dr. Kim was drawn to Esperanza by our commitment to provide the highest quality health care in partnership with low-income immigrant communities. Dr. Kim is passionate about primary care innovation, process improvement, health equity, and health as a human right, which he advances as a member of HANA Center’s board of directors. HANA Center focuses on empowering Korean American and multi-ethnic immigrant communities through social services, education, culture, and community organizing to advance human rights. In his free time, he enjoys barbecuing and spending time outdoors with his kids.
