Esther Murillo, has a rich background in nursing that has shaped her commitment to community service. Before joining Esperanza, Esther immersed herself in the healthcare field, volunteering as a baby cuddler in the NICU at UIC hospital during college and later working as a certified nursing assistant in a medical-surgical unit. Her hands-on experience extended to four years as a registered nurse in a special care nursery and an additional year in a primary care clinic.
Esther's roots in the vibrant community of Little Village fueled her desire to give back to the underserved and uninsured population. This commitment led her to Esperanza, where she saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in her own neighborhood. Esther's educational journey includes earning both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Saint Xavier University.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Esther is a woman of diverse interests and passions. She finds joy in exploring different cultures through travel, relishing the opportunity to try new foods along the way. During her free time, Esther enjoys the great outdoors, indulging in activities like hiking and taking leisurely walks with her beloved goldendoodle. Additionally, she channels her creative side into crafting.
