Dr. Karen Escobar Almeida is a full-time psychiatrist at our Brighton Park health center. Before joining Esperanza, she completed her residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she spent her last year as chief resident. Her desire to work with the Hispanic community drew her to Esperanza. Dr. Escobar completed medical school at Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador in Quito. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new foods, playing with her dog, and the outdoors.
La Dra. Karen Escobar Almeida es psiquiatra en nuestro centro de salud de Brighton Park. Antes de llegar a Esperanza, ella completó su residencia en Icahn School of Medicine en Mount Sinai Hospital en Nueva York, donde pasó su último año como residente principal. Su deseo de trabajar con la comunidad hispana la atrajo a Esperanza. La Dra. Escobar completó sus estudios en la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador en Quito. En su tiempo libre, le gusta probar comida nueva, jugar con su perro y pasar tiempo afuera.
